Community Projects
The Stormtrackers sponsor community projects each season designed to promote youth hockey. Sponsorship projects have included:
-
Donation of street hockey equipment to the Wake County Boys and Girls Clubs and presentation of hockey clinics at the Clubs
-
Sponsorship of a crisis fund with Raleigh Youth Hockey Association to cover hockey expenses for youth hockey families in financial stress
-
Contribution of hockey equipment to the Raleigh Storm women's ice hockey team and support of the annual Trailblazers Women's Hockey Tournament
-
Support of the Canes Kids N Community Foundation
Many of these projects have been undertaken with the Canes and USA Hockey, the national governing body for amateur hockey. The Stormtrackers have also provided volunteers for the Canes Kids N Community Foundation Charity Golf Classic and NHL Breakout street hockey tournament.
To fund our community projects, the Stormtrackers hold two raffles each season. In our Charity Raffle, we sell tickets to the public for great prizes, including a shopping spree at Crabtree Valley Mall and items signed by Canes players. In our Club Raffle, Club members and guests buy raffle tickets for Canes memorabilia also donated by the Canes. The raffles are a great way to stock up on Canes items you cannot find elsewhere and help a good cause at the same time.
